Hi! My name is Akmaral Khassen and I am a multidisciplinary artist based in London. I find joy in creating prints and collages that have emerged during my MA Architecture studies at the University of Westminster in 2020. My thesis investigated hidden homelessness among women in the UK. Through  research and volunteering in shelters, it was found that homeless women struggle because of the lack of access to menstrual hygiene and sanitation. As a result, the thesis was a proposal for a female-only hostel in Tower Hamlets in London. The first print emerger as a planning and zoning strategy diagram that took a feminine forms as inspiration. The thesis was nominated for the RIBA Best Master's Degree Portfolio of the Year in 2020.

Since then, I expanded the collection of prints and continued to explore our body's rights, joy, and softness through body form. My prints have been exhibited in various places around London and commissioned for shops and private collections in the UK, the US, Australia, and Europe. Please feel free to contact me for any commissions, collaborations, or enquiries via email below.

Lots of Love,

SE, London, UK
